New Single and EP From The Rival

the rivalNashville alt-rock duo The Rival have just unveiled their first single, “My Own Devices,” from their upcoming EP, SANDS. Following WAVES, the five-track EP is a perfectly versatile, melodic sampler of the duo’s incredible talents, and the second in the trilogy of EPs that the band is releasing in 2016 and 2017.

The Rival explain that the track was written from the perspective of a “family member that has been through hell with their partner, and it’s been difficult to watch. We wrote ‘My Own Devices’ by putting ourselves in their shoes, imagining what it must feel like to try and fix what is broken and get back to that sense of home. Musically, we wanted to pay tribute to some of the great 90’s albums we grew up with, from Jeff Buckley to Weezer, and experiment with a sound that felt like home to us.”

“My Own Devices” will be released and available on all digital outlets on August 26th, and the SANDS EP is slated for an October 7th release.

“‘Hit The Switch’ is about meeting someone who changed your view on being single vs. being in a relationship,” explains Alexa. “The song is personal for me, [because] after a bad break-up, I swore off of relationships and wanted to be single forever. Magic Bronson Share New Single “Wake Up (111th Dream)”

magic bronsonSynth-driven indie-pop duo Magic Bronson just released their brand new single, “Wake Up (111th Dream). “ The single follows their music video for “Run Run.” and proves to be just as entrancing.

The song was written by Lieberman, following a break-up with his girlfriend. After a wild weekend to ease the pain, weeks of listening to an old vinyl of Bob Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisisted, Lieberman sat down to compose and craft emotionally-charged lyrics and melodies, then throwing in some pirate ships, a game of truth-or-dare, and the names of some influences. Nicastro gave the song some edge, reworking the arrangement, and brining in Edgar Sandoval to play violin.

Red Sun Rising Premiere “Emotionless” Music Video

red sun risingAmerican rock band Red Sun Rising just premiered their brand new music video for their latest single, “Emotionless.” The single comes from their debut full-length, Polyester Zeal. Since its release, the band has steadily climbed the rock radio chars, and was recently dubbed “New Artist Of The Year” at the 2016 Radio Contraband Awards.

“‘Emotionless’ is unique because it came to me in a dream,” explains Mike Protich (vox/guitar). “The visual was vivid and haunting enough that describing it yielded song lyrics. It’s sometimes hard to understand something from the subconscious, so our only hope was to create a song. With the help of director Dylan Marko Bell, we finally brought everything to life…or lack thereof.”

This year, the singer will be showcasing behind the scenes videos documenting the recording process of the EP, as well as releasing music video for each track.
