Disney Announces Delay For Star Wars Episode VIII

star warsMoments ago, Disney dropped a bombshell of an announcement: they’re pushing the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII back. The film was originally given a date of May 26th, 2017. It has now been pushed back to December 15th.

This leaves many people wondering if this is a merchandising gimmick, which it most likely is. Star Wars: The Force Awakens had a lot of success, and a lot of merchandise being sold around Christmastime.

Star Wars isn’t the only film with a shifted release date; Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales to, near-enough Star Wars’ date, May 26th, 2017, from its previously scheduled July 7th, 2017.

What do you think? Do you think the new release date is a good idea?

Freddie Mercury Biopic To Go Into Production

freddie mercuryFreddie Mercury is a legend. We all know it; always have, and probably always will.

For years, a biopic about the icon has been in the works, and has apparently found new life. Sony has brought on Oscar nominated Anthony McCarten (The Theory Of Everything) to write the script, according to The Tracking Board.

Sascha Baron Cohen will no longer be playing Mercury, and Sony quickly scooped up Ben Whishaw (Spectre, Cloud Atlas), who is still on board to play the Queen frontman, alongside Johnny Flynn as Roger Taylor and Gemma Arterton as Mary Austin, Mercury’s longtime partner.

Production is set to begin in June of next year.

The band was kind enough to choose Planet Stereo to premiere their brand new video for “The Great Conspirator,” which you can view below.

“The Great Conspirator is a video montage as seen through the eyes of a simple man. Driven to the brink of insanity, he relentlessly tries to protect his land while combating his own paranoid visions. [It’s] loosely inspired by the 1943 film, The Black Raven,” The band explains.

Franki Love Releases New Single

franki love

Bicoastal singer/songwriter Franki Love has released her brand new single, “Walking Wounded,” from her upcoming album, OTIAS, due out later this year. “I wrote ‘Walking Wounded’ late one night at the piano,” Franki tells Cliche Mag. “After my mom passed away from cancer, I was being mentored by music producer Phil Ramone who encouraged me to sit at the piano and start writing. I wrote this song about how we’re all connected as one – if one person is hurting, then we are all walking wounded.”

The incredible new track was produced by Grammy award-winning producer David Kershenbaum, who also produced two other songs on OTIAS.

A classically trained pianist, Love began playing music at four, and has since garnered success at the LA Music Awards, where she took home the award for “Female Singer/Songwriter of The Year,” as well as “Single of The Year” for her hit “Shadow.” The official music video for “Shadow” was also nominated for “Best Music Video” at the Hollywood Film Festival.

Franki’s upcoming album OTIAS was funded via Kickstarter. The album is dedicated to her mother, who passed away in January 2013 due to cancer. You can stream the single, “Walking Wounded,” below:
