We The Kings Release New Single, Announce Tour Dates

we the kings 2016Platinum-selling rock band (and hometown heroes for those Tampa Bay residents) We The Kings just released their version of “The Story of Tonight,” from the musical Hamilton, the award-winning play and pop culture phenomenon.

The band decided to offer up their version of the song as a tribute to composer Lin-Manuel Miranda’s work, when sparked by their inability to buy tickets to Hamilton, as it’s famously sold out until the end of the year.

The song, toasting to the young rebels’ dreams of glory, as been transformed by WTK into a passionate, party anthem. The single will debut on iTunes today and SiriusXM Hits1 radio on February 6th.

“We had a day off in New York and wanted to see Hamilton, since everybody says it’s the best thing ever. But it was impossible to get tickets,” said frontman Travis Clark. “Maybe if our version of this song becomes a big hit, they’ll give us tickets! In any case, Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius and we hope he likes our version of his song.”

On March 16th in Orlando, FL, the band will headline their From Here To Mars tour covering 19 cities across the country before wrapping up on April 9th in West Hollywood, CA. Tickets on sale now.
