Ben Lee Launches New Video for “The Body Of Love”

ben leeSinger/songwriter Ben Lee launched his brand new video for “The Body Of Love,” from his current album Love is the Great Rebellion. Of the short film, Ben says, “[The song is] about the gentle ache of opening our heart to something bigger; to another human being, to vulnerability, to God, or even to another puppet. I was excited to collaborate on this video with my wife, Ione Skye, who directed, and the LA-based improv puppet troupe ‘The Sound and the Furry,’ who starred in, and helped conceive the story. Thank you to Ione, Emily, Collin, as well as to the real stars of the video, Penelope and Argyle, who help remind us that we all must eventually remember that we are one with the body of love.”

Touring Musician Jason Gaviati Passes Away

jason gaviati.jpgJason Gaviati, a touring musician/songwriter/producer, as well as a close friend to All Time Low, passed away over the weekend following a battle with lymphoma. A GoFundMe campaign, which was originally launched to aid in paying off Gaviati’s treatment costs, has been opened to help his family in the wake of his passing.

All Time Low released a statement expressing their grief, as well as explaining that they will not be canceling any scheduled tour dates. However, they will be canceling all upcoming meet-and-greets, as well as the live Full Frontal taping that was scheduled for today, November 23.

“As I’m sure many of you already know, last night one of our best friends, Jason Gaviati, passed away after battling lymphoma for the past few months,” wrote ATL on Facebook. “It was unexpected and has hit us all very hard. Gavi lived with Rian for several years, and has been my roommate in Los Angeles for the past year. In a relatively small amount of time he became family to all of us, because that’s just the kind of guy he was. Jason was easily one of the brightest, sweetest, most positive people I have ever met, and his passing has left us completely bewildered and emotionally drained. Last night’s show in Philly was extremely difficult for us to get through, but we felt that it would be a disservice to you guys to not go out there and play, (It’s also what Gavi would have wanted us to do.)”

We send our deepest condolences to Gaviati’s family, friends, and fans.

Foo Fighters Release Surprise EP – DOWNLOAD FOR FREE

Foo FightersLate last month, Foo Fighters launched a countdown, causing plenty of curiosity. As suspected, new music is the result.

During their performance at Austin City Limits in October, frontman Dave Grohl announced that the band had recorded five new songs. Those are the tracks that have been released as the Saint Cecilia EP, which is available now for free download. Vinyl pre-orders are also available.

Coinciding with the release of this surprise EP, Grohl has also shared a lengthy letter on their site for fans. In regards to the recent tragedies in Paris and other parts of the world, Grohl’s letter is prefaced with the following, explaining the meaning this release has taken on and what the band hopes it can achieve:

“Tonight, Let me begin with a preface to a letter I wrote a few weeks ago from my hotel room in Berlin while on our final tour for this album. I felt the need to write this foreword in light of the heartbreaking tragedies of Nov. 13th, as this project has now taken on an entirely different tone. As has everything, it seems…

The Saint Cecilia EP was put into motion back in October of this year as a celebration of life and music. The concept being that, as our world tour drew to a close this week, we wanted to share our love of both with you in return for everything you have given us.

Now, there is a new, hopeful intention that, even in the smallest way, perhaps these songs can bring a little light into this sometimes dark world. To remind us that music is life, and that hope and healing go hand in hand with song. That much can never be taken away.

To all who were affected by the atrocities in Paris, loved ones and friends, our hearts go out to you and your families. We will return and celebrate life and love with you once again someday with our music. As it should be done.”

To read the entire letter from Grohl, visit the EP’s website and click the tab at the bottom of the page.
