Jurassic World made its big debut in theaters this week, and has set the record for the biggest Friday debut in box office history, according to a report from Forbes.
The official number for Jurassic World‘s opening Friday, combined with Thursday night previews, sits at a very impressive $82.3 million.
Officially, this is the third highest Friday box office number of all time, following behind Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s $84 million and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2‘s $91 million. However, if Thursday night previews were not taken into account, and it was just opening Friday sales being counted, Jurassic World takes the cake for having the highest “pure” Friday numbers of all time.
The film, fourth in the enormous franchise, stars Chris Pratt and Dallas Bryce Howard, and is out now. You can view the trailer below:
