The San Antonio four-piece Wild Party premiered their new music video for “OutRight” today via VEVO, as well as announcing a North American tour supporting Catfish and The Bottleman.
“OutRight” is the latest song from the band’s album, Phantom Pop, which is available on iTunes. You can view the video, directed by guitarist Lucas Hughes, below.
Comrpised of Lincoln Kreifels (vox), Lucas Hughes (guitar), Ethan Kauffman (bass), and Cary LaScale (drums), Wild Party is still a young band, but they have already been around the block and across the pond. Thrust into the spotlight early in their career, the band was offered a gig to support The Wombats on tour across the UK in 2010. Only 19 at the time, frontman Lincoln Kreifels had only played two previous live shows before the whirlwind UK tour.
John Kennedy of UK’s Xfm radio picked up the band’s single “Take My Advice” and broadcast it over the air to millions of listeners. Suddenly, without label support, and with nothing but a “can-do” attitude, Wild Party seized the moment and took a DIY approach to create/promote their debut album; first releasing a music video for “When I Get Older” on YouTube in January 2014 and soon after, debuting a collection of songs on iTunes that they self-recorded and produced under the title, Phantom Pop. Within 24 hours of its release, Phantom Pop cracked the iTunes Top 100 and music journalists, would-be managers and hopeful record labels swiftly came knocking at their door.
Wild Party was among the nominees in the 2014 Macy’s iHeartRadio competition and has toured with Andrew McMahon
